What is new in PCIScope 2.00.001 from June 18, 2004

  1. A possibility to run PCIScope under a non-administrative user account was added (Windows NT4.0/2000/XP/Server 2003). When PCIScope cannot start the driver, it works as a viewer of .BPD files. After an additional setup PCIScope can start the driver and access a hardware under any user account (see the help topic "How to enable PCIScope to access hardware under a non-administrative user account".
  2. Information about installed Win32 services and kernel-mode drivers is collected now. The services object is located in the System tree. The Service Properties dialog shows detailed information about each service or driver.
  3. A database of PCI Vendors and Devices was updated.
  4. A hang under Windows 2000 Server was fixed.
  5. Detection of phantom devices was corrected.
  6. Several minor bugs were fixed.

What is new in PCIScope 1.00.015 from April 1, 2004

  1. Complete support for IEEE 1394 (FireWire) OHCI and USB 2.0 EHCI host controllers. Now PCIScope reads and interprets all PCI and memory registers of these controllers according to specifications.
  2. Parts from "1394 Open Host Controller Interface Specification" and "EHCI Specification for Universal Serial Bus" were added to program's help.
  3. A list of significant changes was implemented in PCIScope's DOS agent (PCITOOL.EXE):
    1. Reading of USB 2.0 EHCI and 1394 (FireWire) OHCI registers
    2. Producing a binary file in format compatible with PCIScope (a .BPD file)
    3. A possibility to read/write any PCI registers using a command file
  4. Each tab that displays I/O or memory registers in the right panel now has a tooltip, which shows brief information about the registers (BAR, offset, etc).
  5. A bug with displaying registers by Byte/Word/Dword in right panel was fixed.
  6. A database of PCI Vendors and Devices was updated.
  7. Several bugs were fixed.
